Sullivan’s Island is a two-and-a-half-mile-long, picturesque barrier island nestled at the entrance of the Charleston Harbor. Steeped in history. Sullivan’s Island was settled in the late 17th Century by Captain Florence O’Sullivan while he was stationed as a lookout. The island has a strong military background as it was the site of a major Revolutionary War battle, the Battle of Sullivan’s Island, and was involved in the first shots of the American Civil War.
Unique restaurants. After enjoying a beach day, head over to some of the area’s most popular restaurants for lunch or dinner. Some of our favorites are Home Team BBQ, Mex 1 Coastal Cantina, and Poe’s Tavern. For more of an upscale meal, join The Obstinate Daughter for a celebratory dinner. Sullivan’s Fish Camp is the newest and hottest spot on the island that we are excited to try out.
Proximity to attractions. If you’re looking to explore areas outside of the island, there are wonderful attractions just a golf cart ride away. Take a cruise to Pitt Street Bridge, Patriots Point, and Shem Creek to see some of the area's most visited attractions. The Isle of Palms is another beautiful island to explore and enjoy a summer beach day. You won’t be disappointed as each of these areas have their own unique charm and appeal.
