Located about 25 minutes outside of downtown Charleston, Johns Island has the distinction of being the fourth largest island on the East Coast of the U.S. and the largest island in the state of South Carolina. Johns Island spans 84 square miles of marshes, tidal creeks, ancient live oaks, and working farmland just minutes from downtown Charleston. Once known primarily for its agricultural roots and quiet country lanes, the island has experienced remarkable growth in recent years, evolving into one of the most sought-after areas in the Lowcountry while still preserving the natural beauty and laid-back character that drew people here in the first place.
