Fall has arrived in Charleston which means cooler temperatures and festive events, from oyster roasts, bonfires, farmers markets and Fall festivals, we are excited for the season! Follow this guide to see what’s happening this Fall in the Charleston area.

The Boone Hall Pumpkin Patch | September 30th. This event is one of the largest fall festivals in South Carolina and has become an autumn tradition for the past twenty-seven years. Enjoy family-friendly events such as an all-American petting zoo, a Halloween tractor tour, pony rides, homegrown stage live performances and more. There will be pumpkins for sale by the pound and a variety of food vendors. This event is held every weekend throughout October. Learn more.

Meeting Green Harvest Market | October 1st. Celebrate the start of the Fall season on Sunday, October 1st, from 11-3 pm at Meeting Green located at 1455 Meeting Street. If you still need to decorate your porch for Fall, they will have Amish-grown heirloom pumpkins, mums, and more than ten local vendors. They are also hosting a Planted Pumpkin Succulent Workshop on Tuesday, October 3rd, at 5:30 pm. More details.

Historic Charleston: Fun Scavenger Hunt for Families | October 3rd. Enjoy a postcard walk of historic downtown Charleston on October 3rd from 12-1:30 pm, starting at St. Philip’s Church on Church Street. There will be puzzles, riddles and other fun challenges for all ages. Learn more.

Fall Garden Strolls and Wine Tastings | October 4th. Wander through Middleton Place National Historic Landmark and take in the beautiful flora and wonderful views of the Ashley River with a glass of wine in hand. There will be wine-tasting stations in the gardens and light hors d’oeuvres. Get tickets.

The Fall Tours | October 11th. Each October, the Preservation Society of Charleston hosts the Fall Tour of Homes where guests can get a behind-the-scenes look at some of the nation's most exceptional historic houses. This is a rare opportunity to experience Charleston’s architecture, distinctive landscapes, urban neighborhoods, and rich cultural heritage. Get tickets.

2023 Fall Park Circle Art Walk | October 14th. Support local artists at the Park Circle Fall Art Walk on Saturday October 14th. There will be food trucks, artists, crafters, designers, and craftsmen who will be showcasing and selling their art. Learn more.

Beauti-Fall Festival | October 21st. Head out to Magnolia Plantation and Gardens for their fall festival on Saturday, October 21st. Activities include face painting, pumpkin painting, autumn-inspired snacks and vendors, and shopping. This event is included with Garden Admission. More details.

Harvest Festival | November 4th. Come out to Johns Island County Park for the Harvest Festival on Saturday, November 4th, from 11-5pm. Enjoy live music from local bluegrass bands, pumpkin decorating, kids' crafts, hayrides, and more. Feast on Southern delights like Carolina barbecue, kettle corn, and other delicious festival foods, or head over to the crafters market for holiday shopping. Learn more.

Fall Fest at Holy City Brewing | November 12th. Join Holy City Brewing for their annual Fall Festival on Sunday, November 12th from 11-3pm. This is a family-friendly event with free activities and a pie-eating contest. Learn more here.
