The Elizabeth Arden House is privately situated on the most coveted street in the historic district of downtown Summerville. This home features soaring 12 ft. ceilings, original heart pine floors, hand-carved moldings, six fireplaces, two laundry rooms, double piazzas, an elevator, and a spacious study on the first level. Elizabeth Arden purchased the southern Victorian-style estate as a summer home and sold the property in 1954 while creating her cosmetic empire. It is said that Arden painted the front door a different color for each season, but it now remains red, the inspiration for the entrances to her salons. A picturesque exterior accentuates the manicured grounds, pool, pool house with kitchen, two gazebos, and three separate cottages.
