Sallie Robinson

A Charleston native, Sallie Bennett Robinson grew up and attended school in downtown Charleston. After graduating from The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, her strong interest in architecture and knowledge of all aspects of life in Charleston led her to a career in real estate. Sallie joined William Means Real Estate as a licensed Realtor in 2004.

Sallie has been an active member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, the young professionals group at St. Michael’s Church, the Preservation Society of Charleston, and has served several years on the board of the Junior League of Charleston. Sallie earned her Master Preservationist designation from the Preservation Society of Charleston. She also earned the GRI designation which is a prestigious, nationally recognized advanced training in real estate and later obtained her Broker’s license in 2007.

A furiously hard worker, she is completely committed to serving her clients. She continues to live in one of Charleston’s historic districts with her family.

If you could live anywhere, or have a second home in Charleston where would it be and why?

Sullivan’s Island; I have spent all of my summers on the island in a home built around 1900. With doors and windows flung wide open at all times you can really get a sense of the seasons, our natural world (birds, other wildlife, and weather patterns unique to the area), architecture, and you develop wonderful relationships with neighbors and friends who pass by. The beach is beautiful and teeming with life from the water through the tertiary dunes. Even with the passage of time and change it still holds onto a small town feel supporting restaurants, a grocery, shops, a pre-revolutionary war fort, a ring of 8 change ringing bells, schools, and a local library branch.

What is one thing you think most people don’t realize when they buy real estate?

When people start the process of buying a home, they spend most of their time considering the homes, gardens, parties, special moments, and dreams they envision. I don't blame them, that's the fun part! However, they often don't realize just how much work goes on behind the scenes to take a transaction from the initial falling-in-love-with-a-place to the long-awaited "welcome home". That's what I'm here for, to take care of all the hard work required to get people home.

What do you enjoy most about being a William Means Agent?

Walking into the office on any given day is like walking into your best friend's kitchen. You know that you will be welcomed, warmly greeted, encouraged, challenged, put to work, and helped out when you need it. Nothing beats working with people you respect, admire, and can count on to support you and your clients as you work towards making dreams realities.
